compiling a list of species

Welcome to the many newcomers. Feel free to ask questions or send information of common interest. This project is yours, and it will live only if you interact.

As for myself, my priority is to develop the Pl@ntUse website. It deals with all kinds of plant uses (including vegetables, spices, cereals...). It is a lot of work indeed, but the site is collaborative and uses Mediawiki (as in Wikipedia). So we hope to have soon many collaborators.

With the help of a robot, I could create about 15,000 species pages. I benefitted from the species lists of PROSEA and PROTA, both encyclopedias having published a volume on Dye plants. Now, I also have the list of species mentioned in the book of Dominique Cardon. If you have lists of species of dye plants which are not included in those three sources, could you provide me with such lists?

I only need Latin names of species (no author's names, no subspecies or variety, no common names). The aim is to use a robot to open pages in the wiki. I will check the accuracy of species names with the best databases, so don't mind too much.

It is of course only the first step. We will then need to fill the pages with data, photos and so on. But I must begin to build from the basis!

If you want to visualize the entire list of species pages already created, you may go to the category Species page.

Thank you for your collaboration.
